UAB's Elinor Kirk was named the Conference USA Indoor Track and Field Female Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Saturday's final round of competition at the 3rd Annual UAB Blazer Invitational saw multiple meet, CrossPlex and school records broken, highlighted by the women's 3,000-meter run, men's and women's 4x400-meter relay and men's pole vault events.

The UAB track and field team wrapped up competition Friday night with the opening events of the 2014 UAB Blazer Invitational at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

The UAB track and field team will host the Third Annual UAB Blazer Invite this Friday and Saturday, Jan. 10-11, at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

Junior Shelby Barker of the UAB track and field team is the UAB Student-Athlete of the Week, as announced on Wednesday. The UAB Student-Athlete of the Week recognizes Blazer student-athletes who standout on and off their respective fields of competition.
